Would you like a black and bright? - Los Angeles Travel Photographer

For anyone that knows me to certain extent, I'm not someone that's bound by limitations; or I'd still be in a field of biology, financial industry or even back in a country that I was born in (the video in my About Jean page might explain a little).  I love the freedom that the choices of life has offered to dabble.

Arequipa was a town in Peru that we made an effort to visit and, despite the altitude sickness, the colonial center of the city did not disappoint.  On the day most people squeeze in tasting cuy (guinea pig), shopping alpaca products and visiting historical monuments, we found our candy store at Santa Catalina Monastery.  To be exact, we spent 6 hours in this city-in-a-city and came out feeling exhilarated.

The light, colors, shapes and shadows are playing in countless combination at any given location/moment.  The crazy version of moi was having so much fun and went beyond the usually colorful representation of this group of amazing Mudรฉjar style architecture.

It's boring to be defined by labels.  And life's too short to not taste the many flavors in this world.  If you ask me what kind of photography I make?  I'd say, maybe, black and bright (reserving the right to change at a future date).

What do you think?  Don't rush to answer, take a gander around first (travel photography from many countries including Peru, portrait photography, including fine art nude, or blog). :-)

I Danced a Song on the Black Sand Beach in Iceland - Los Angeles Fine Art Photographer

I love it when I get to share my personal journey and artistic vision with potential investors.  In recent events that were held for the Naked vs. Nude photography show, it was fun seeing how many (including artists) thought my series of fine art nude photography resembles those of paintings and drawings.  What they did not know was that I like emitting a sense of dream/fairy tale/feeling through my work.  As a result, the work seems "out-of-this-world" as my client-turned-friend Sylvia likes to describe.

When in Dyrholaey, Iceland, we went to meet the
ever-so-clumsy Atlantic puffins.  While waiting for their royal presence either from their burrows or back from sea, my mind (and eyes) wondered off...  The reward for the easily-distracted mind is a painting on a black canvas made of sand (see, not all who wander are lost).

If my new writer friend Deji paints pictures with words, do you hear the song that I danced across the black sand beach in Iceland?

The series of fine art nude photography will be on display at the Hive Gallery and Studios for limited time.  And, I don't know if I told you, they are limited in remaining editions as well. :-)

Bee Pollen is for Hive Gallery - Los Angeles Fine Art Photographer

Throughout my life, I found myself being curious most of time and asking (too) many questions sometimes.  As one (or two) wise person said, life is a never-ending learning experience.

One day, when the subject of interest turned to bee pollen that has made its way into my daily diet, I learnt that the fuzzy aircraft collect pollen of up to their body weight in the sacs of their hind legs, before carrying the pellets back to their hives.

In this part of the nation, bees have waken up from winter and are happily buzzing around in my rosemary patch. None of my wildest imagination or my tireless questioning would have brought me to realize that ingesting bee pollen one day would lead to
having my photography shown at a gallery named Hive on a fine spring day.

Universe has its interesting way of having things lined up and I don't seem to mind it this time.

This Saturday, I will "bee" at the Hive Gallery between 8:00 and 11:00 pm.  Will you?
