Call me slow. This year feels different. Iโve received holiday card before the โholiday seasonโ is here. Iโve been bombarded with Black Friday ads months ahead. While I may get confused often. I know today is THE day. :-)
After last yearโs hiatus, my partner-in-crime and I are back to celebrating the day with loved ones again, despite being at a smaller scale. That, Iโm thankful for.
During this strange and difficult time that we are still dealing with, many of you stick around and show that you care about me as a person. This, Iโm grateful for.
Iโve received many inquiries from the ones that found me online to purchase my art. How do people offer to buy from you when you donโt even have a store yet? I have no idea. But I feel forever indebted.
After years of contemplating, Iโve finally opened up my online store. The door is only cracked open a little. The shelves are not even fully stocked (let me know what you want to see there). Itโs not a grand opening. I wonโt even say itโs a soft opening. Iโm tempted to call it a โslow openingโ. How is that? Anyway, feel free to get in and play, especially with the augmented reality (hint: Live Preview).
To end my appearance here, I wanted to present to you the beautiful chrysanthemum thatโs blooming in my garden right now. Beautiful and timely.
The Thanksgiving cactus, on the other hand, is still taking its time. Thereโs a personal story on this cactus. I may share it on my Instagram account tomorrow. In any case, like anything in this life and world, itโll happen when the timing is right.
Thank you for being you and being patient with me finding my own timing.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Hello Autumn, the Season of Fruits and Bakery! - Los Angeles Fine Art Photographer
As nature has decisively shown us the hint, I know my favorite season has arrived.
In my opinion, autumn is the most colorful season of the year (you know I love colors). On top of that, have you noticed that the thought (and the smell thereof) of baking has once again entered our thoughts, while you are munching an abundance of fruits? ;-) At least it did for me, well, metaphorically. :-)
So, Iโve been baking up a storm while I was MIA (my apologies). As much as I want the world to see my โbakeryโ right now, Iโm going to try to hold back my excitement better than this guy:
You know, Iโd still need to do a little taste test and the platter that the cake is going to be served in needs some garnish.
Alright, alright, you canโt stand the thought of waiting much longer now that the beans have been spilled? Would you want to be the taste tester? Click here and weโll talk.
In the meantime, sit back and enjoy the splendor of the fall season. What are you seeing this autumn?
Meeting Wolf of the Sea in Monopoli, Italy - Los Angeles Travel Photographer
How do you know you are traveling off the beaten path? Iโd say when you see no one but a solo local person at a little town off of the Adriatic Sea.
Seeing that he was processing fish, probably caught on-site, we stopped. Many words tried to rush out in English. Facing the reality of language barrier, we chose silence.
โPesce rossoโ, he said, eyes still on what his hands were working on.
โSiโ. Judging from the obvious color of the fish, we replied.
Out of blue, he raise the red fish to his mouth.
โLupo di Mareโ, he said.
Proud to know what lupo means in English, we quickly responded โSi si si siโ. In hindsight, Iโm not too sure who he was referring to as the lupo. What do you think?
Throughout our travels, weโve appreciated a variety of landscapes (see my theory about People Are Landscape). Itโs usually the experience with beautiful and/or interesting people that we still remember many years later.
Do you want to take a wild guess on what Monopoli means? Put your thought in the comment below.
