Nature - Where Spring and Fall Co-exist - Los Angeles Fine Art Photographer

Even back in my corporate days, I never let my position define what I do or who I was.  Now that I'm in a creative realm, it's even more true. Yes, I "transform" women/beauty.  But, that's not going to stop me from appreciating the other beauties that we have around us.  So, when I go on a hike, I do not just hike.  I get "distracted" a lot, while my "assitante" anxiously plod ahead, trying to get to the end of the road before sunset.  However, wouldn't you agree that had I not "stopped and smelt the roses", we wouldn't have this image, where spring and fall magically co-exist?

Is Full Sun the Best Light for Portraiture? - Los Angeles Portrait Photographer

My job as an artist is to provide the best portraiture no matter what light condition we have.  More than once, I would hear comments from clients about how a location would be great for photography because it gets "all the sun".  But let me tell you, personally, I think the best character in the "natural" backdrop comes out when the sun is not "all out". Take a look at the below image, and let me know if you agree.  This is where we can create some fine art for our clients:

P.S.  The "dude" in the image is my trusty "assistante".  When you hire me, it's included in the portrait packages to meet him. :-)

Tianzifang (็”ฐๅญๅŠ), Shanghai, Where Fusion Happens - Los Angeles Travel Photographer

My photography evolves over time.  Sometimes it's the mood; sometimes it's the composition; it could be the interest of subjects and it could be the color tones (like how I recently started processing some images into black & white)...

That's why it's interesting to see my heart skip a beat when I saw this image that I made 3 years ago in Tianzifang (็”ฐๅญๅŠ),  Shanghai and never had a chance to post.  I guess some things never change.  It's the longing for the reminiscent of the past, the things that show evidence of age, the things that we "modern" people demolish and so-ever-clumsily try to reconstruct with no success ...

Yes, heart is a tricky place to reach, let alone understand completely.  And yet, I choose to listen to my heart.
