Life Is Beautiful

Want your photos to stand out? Have them displayed on standout mounts.

As a photographer, I always work with my customers in coming up with the photo display solutions based on factors such as:- The customers' home decor;

- The customers' interests/tastes; and

- The look/feel of the photographs themselves.

So in a way, I'm like an interior designer.

Other than the traditional framing, there are so many frame-less alternatives nowadays, many of which are lighter in weight and are easier to install.  Remember the relatively new presentation style - canvas thin wrap I shared a couple of months ago?  Well, for the lady that has a near-century long of experience in this world, I tried a different media.

This time, I had it printed on photo paper.  The print was then mounted on a thick black lightweight backing that gives a contemporary, finished look to the unframed image.  Holes are included on the back of the mounts for easy hanging.  And depending on the size of the photo, the backing is available in ยพ" and 1ยฝ" (for larger sizes) thicknesses.

As you can see, the sides are wrapped, which gives an even more finished look.  Given the feel of this particular photo, I picked black siding for her.  White and beige are two other options.

Normally, I'm not a big fan of anything shiny.  To protect the photo, I could have selected a matte spray.  However, I thought a glossy spray would really bring out the deep colors in this photo and it turned out to look really nice.

Take a look at the finished product in different angles.  I hope you like this product as well!

Beauty in the Grooves of Wrinkles - Los Angeles Life-Style Photographer

For the most part, words "young" and "old" are relative terms.  Remember the days when you were in your teens, anybody in their 20s are "old".  If you are 20, middle-aged people seem "old".  Now, when 50 and 60 sound like ages for mature look, modern time makes people feel and look young.  Nonetheless, no matter what your age group, people in their 90s have had quite a lot of years behind their back and on their faces.  I happen to be related to one such lady.

The other day, as she was  going back in time, reminiscing of the life in the early 20th century,  I knew my imaginative ability was being stretched and the only things that I could hold on to were her words, the wrinkles on her face and the back that gave in to the weight in her life a long time ago.  The invasion of a foreign force, then the civil war, and the escapes...  It's a life that women in modern-time developed countries can not comprehend.  And yet, I did not see sorrow, depression, pain of losses or even hunger that once bothered her.  As I was sifting through the smooth curves in her face, I saw beauty, the beauty that would only arise out of all the unimaginable obstacles and the wisdom that we would hopefully obtain when we reach her age.

What a life, a beautiful life!  Here's my tribute to an unbelievable century:

Now, I know she'd like the colored version, I thought it looks really good in black & white as well.

Can Normal Life Objects, like Chili Peppers, be Turned Into Art?

If you remember my earlier post "Looking Beyond the Obvious" and its follow-up "The Not So Obvious Answers", you'd know that I don't look at things in a "normal" way. ย This time, it's no exception.

Things all started pretty innocently...

As mentioned in the post of "The Not So Obvious Answers", my parents gave me a few plants of Mexican chili pepper since I'm into vegetable gardening. ย A couple of weeks have passed. ย Dad stopped by and brought over 2 peppers from their own garden while mine just started having flowers. ย It sort of feels like a "preview" of what to expect once mine come to "fruition".

The thing is that my tolerance to spiciness is limited and if my dad said this pepper is spicy, it IS spicy for me. ย So I'm looking at these beautiful gifts from the nature and the photographer in me got an idea. ย Why not take photos of them?

So here's what I started with:

ยฉ Jean Huang Photography Notice I've changed the border colors for the same picture. ย And I want to remind you again that this piece of art only started with 2 pieces of chili peppers. ย You've got to give the beautiful nature some credit!

Then I got a little more creative. ย So here they are:

ยฉ Jean Huang Photography Like what you've seen? ย These art pieces can be printed (as is; without the watermarks, of course) and mounted or framed (at your choice) to make your day, every day. ย At your preference, you also have the options to customize the border colors and/or background colors.

Additionally, if you like them to be made of other words/phrases, it can be done. ย  In other words, all sorts of customization can be done.

So all you need is to call or e-mail me (my contact info can be found by clicking the "Contact" tab at the top)!
