The Era after Social Distancing - Los Angeles Travel Photographer

On June 15, 2021, California reopened. Just like that, a floodgate is all of sudden lifted. And I find myself remaining here, trying to rehearse what I used to be so good at doing back when there was no pandemic, mandatory masks or social-distancing yet.

Iโ€™m about living life to the fullest and taking things to the farthest. While some are
debating whether itโ€™s time to shake hands, Iโ€™m ready to hug and, this time around, hug with a tight squeeze. I was once defined by someone as a โ€œhugging personโ€ and I canโ€™t allow myself to fail on that image. :p

Wait, what if Iโ€™m met with an equally passionate person? Normally, I donโ€™t worry. But hey, itโ€™s been over a year and we are all rustic on controlling the extent of passion being exhibited.

Hmmm, I can somehow picture it not ending pretty. Best to take baby steps in the beginning. After all, wrestling in mud is not the point of getting together, at least not yet.

Whatโ€™s in your mind when the โ€œfloodgateโ€ is open?

This Sunday, Please Celebrate Mother's Day - Los Angeles Travel Photographer

Itโ€™s that time of the year again. As we look around, the world is in such a different shape from we last had it a year ago. Most of the world is in lockdown/quanrantine/safe-at-home. Moms, take advantage of the opportunity. Enjoy being smothered by the love from your baby/babies (no age limit). Although you may have had days like this on re-run for the last two months. This Sunday, itโ€™s special and you will remember it as such.

If you and your baby (no age limit, again) are rivers and oceans apart, be patient. Iโ€™m sure he/she is trying his/her best to reach you with whatever technology feasible. Stay put, and make sure to have your Facetime or Facebook ready to have a virtual face-to-face. It will be so special, I promise.

This Sunday, please celebrate Motherโ€™s Day. Or else, Iโ€™m afraid, in a monthโ€™s time, the dads may have a hard time justifying celebrating the holiday in their names. Enjoy!

Hello, is it me you're looking for? - Los Angeles Travel Photographer

It was a rare opportunity. I had never observed or photographed polar bears that close. We dressed like polar bears. Moved clumsily in tight space trying to work the angles for the best composition...

Polar bear on the move. Adrenaline spiked. Click clickโ€ฆ Click click clickโ€ฆ

Oopsโ€ฆ My body may be following the polar bear. But something that I clipped underneath layers of clothing chose to fall at the most inconvenient time.

I quickly got on my feet, back facing what I was photographing. Picked up the trouble-maker and reattached it underneath my layers of clothing. At this point, I raised my head.

There she was, all by herself, surrounded by water, vast body of water. She turned around and locked eyes with me, as if she was asking โ€œHello, is it me youโ€™re looking for?โ€

Mesmerized, I forgot what I was photographing 5 seconds agoโ€ฆ

Today is International Polar Bear Day. This encounter with the polar bear came to mind. I wish that her wait for ice has ended and she was able to travel on it to where her food is.
