Hello, is it me you're looking for? - Los Angeles Travel Photographer

It was a rare opportunity. I had never observed or photographed polar bears that close. We dressed like polar bears. Moved clumsily in tight space trying to work the angles for the best composition...

Oopsโ€ฆ My body may be following the polar bear. But something that I clipped underneath layers of clothing chose to fall at the most inconvenient time.

I quickly got on my feet, back facing what I was photographing. Picked up the trouble-maker and reattached it underneath my layers of clothing. At this point, I raised my head.

There she was, all by herself, surrounded by water, vast body of water. She turned around and locked eyes with me, as if she was asking โ€œHello, is it me youโ€™re looking for?โ€

Mesmerized, I forgot what I was photographing 5 seconds agoโ€ฆ

Today is International Polar Bear Day. This encounter with the polar bear came to mind. I wish that her wait for ice has ended and she was able to travel on it to where her food is.

This Valentine's Day, I Wish You Love! - Los Angeles Fine Art Photographer

Most, if not all, love relationships start out beautifully. Sweet romance, and deadly attraction are some sample words that came to my mind. :D

What may be unbeknown to some is that love relationships, just like life, have their own stages. If youโ€™ve lived long enough, you will see darkness in life. Similarly, if youโ€™ve loved long enough, you will experience doubt, frustration and/or anger (not all inclusive, and not necessarily in that order) associated with the many stages involved.

Maybe you are lucky and havenโ€™t felt the way the penguin in the below image feels. And maybe you are not a penguin. Nonetheless, I wish you love on this Valentineโ€™s Day. As the late Leo Buscaglia puts it, "No one gets out of this world alive, so the time to live, learn, care, share, celebrate, and love is now."

In the name of love, Iโ€™d also like to share some parting words, stealing from Leo Buscaglia:โ€A loving relationship is one in which the loved one is free to be himself - to laugh with me, but never at me; to cry with me, but never because of me; to love life, to love himself, to love being loved. Such a relationship is based upon freedom and can never grow in a jealous heart.โ€

Now, go love, be loved, share and spread love. Now!

Oh, wow! - Los Angeles Fine Art Photographer

Although Iโ€™ve experienced sudden loss of family member (and I wrote about it in my year-end post), the abrupt passing of Kobe Bryant still took me, and many others of the world, off-guard. While I am deeply saddened by the loss of many young lives that perished in the accident, I wonder what the new world that they enter look like.

Some say itโ€™s a paradise. And people are happy there. Itโ€™s said that they will be greeted by their loved ones thatโ€™s already been there. I wonder if there are colors and whether itโ€™s cold or warm.

Lately, I learned that Steve Jobโ€™s last words in this world are โ€œOh, wow!โ€ โ€œOh, wow!โ€ โ€œOh, wow!โ€ I bet itโ€™s a beautiful world that he saw. Rest in peace and have a (basket)ball up there, Kobe, Gianna, and your friends that went with you!
