A Heart-to-Heart with Yourself - Los Angeles Transformational Beauty Photographer

When was the last time that you had an honest conversation with yourself? That’s right, the kind where there’s no one to provide the “correct” answers to you, and there’s no one to report the result to.

For many that know my story, I “found myself” years ago by asking myself the tough questions in life (not by choice, but I’m glad that it happened). Little beknownst to me at the time that it was the beginning of transformations that some have witnessed in front of their eyes. A series of consequential events later, here I am, having more peace, happiness and sense of fulfillment.

Nowadays, I still hold these conversations with myself. As we morph in this world , it helps us find more clarity in who we are and what we care about.

Of Mom, For Mom, With Mom - Los Angeles Transformational Beauty Photographer

At the beginning of this year, I pledged to make more effort to photograph “mature” women. In the last two months that I’ve been MIA here, I received bad news about two of them.

One was an artist that I only recently started following. It took a mere few weeks for her to go from the sudden diagnosis to meeting her eternity. The other one is currently fighting her battle that was started recently. Only two months ago, I thought she has good genes as her mom made more than 100 rounds in this world.

I know we all are going to meet our final destination one day. But whether beknownst to us or not, a generation is quietly leaving us. When that day comes, would you be happy with the memories that you’ve preserved about them?

Mother’s Day is coming up. While I’m sure moms will not stop being moms (or stop doing what moms do) the other 364 days of the year, it serves as a reminder to ask ourselves this question:

When was the last time that you had a photograph professionally done of your mom, for your mom and/or with your mom?

I hope the answer is satisfactory to you. As I always say, “life won’t wait”. It’s especially true for a certain generation. When they are gone, a generation of stories are gone.

People Are Fascinating - Los Angeles Transformational Beauty Photographer

I am absolutely fascinated by people. When I’m not in my studio “transforming” women into their authentically beautiful selves, I find myself interacting with and/or photographing people more often than not in my travels.

Am I looking for the time that many of us can’t go back to anymore? A slower pace? A richer culture? A stronger connection to the rhythm that seems invisible but remains powerful?
