Flying Through Thick and Thin - Los Angeles Travel Photographer

For some reason, the image of this little bird resonates with me today. Amongst the roaring storm, with no end to the difficult time in sight, the seemingly minuscule bird was determined to cut through the wind and fire to reach her destiny in fading light.

It all of sudden reminds me of
another brave little bird in Iceland. Do you think our humanโ€™s fascination with flying is somehow rooted in the admiration in these tough little flying creatures?

I was going to show a sequel to my โ€œeyes in Porto, Portugalโ€ post and I digressed. I really hope you donโ€™t mind. This tough little bird needs a sip of margarita before facing a world of storm again.

You Are Being Watched in Porto, Portugal - Los Angeles Travel Photographer

When I travel, I skip the obvious. Itโ€™s given that Porto is well-known for its vinho do Porto. But like people, I believe a city (any city) has many layers that are waiting for the inquisitive to explore and find out.

On a leisure stroll towards Ponte de Dom Luis I, I realize there are eyes everywhere.

It makes my walk-around so much more fun. I mean, these people donโ€™t even know they are being under the watchful eyes.

I felt obligated to tell them to be more cognizant. They need to follow how I am always scanning my surroundingsโ€ฆ. until my eyes met another pair, watching ME through a โ€œpeek holeโ€.

This Sunday, Please Celebrate Mother's Day - Los Angeles Travel Photographer

Itโ€™s that time of the year again. As we look around, the world is in such a different shape from we last had it a year ago. Most of the world is in lockdown/quanrantine/safe-at-home. Moms, take advantage of the opportunity. Enjoy being smothered by the love from your baby/babies (no age limit). Although you may have had days like this on re-run for the last two months. This Sunday, itโ€™s special and you will remember it as such.

If you and your baby (no age limit, again) are rivers and oceans apart, be patient. Iโ€™m sure he/she is trying his/her best to reach you with whatever technology feasible. Stay put, and make sure to have your Facetime or Facebook ready to have a virtual face-to-face. It will be so special, I promise.

This Sunday, please celebrate Motherโ€™s Day. Or else, Iโ€™m afraid, in a monthโ€™s time, the dads may have a hard time justifying celebrating the holiday in their names. Enjoy!
